We managed to get to the castle and back safely, and had a great time in the process. Of course, I woke up the next morning at 4am, with a heavy fever and the usual hot/cold flashes.

How fun. Two days off work. Might go back tomorrow. Sigh.

Margeaux and I are headed to Ravenwood Castle tomorrow for the weekend.

Great place for a getaway weekend. Castle rooms. Cottages. Out in the middle of nowhere. Great food without being too cheesy. :-)

Normally, I don't care, but love or hate the Patriots, it's a damn impressive record and I hope they seal the deal. Aside form that, it's a good excuse to fire up the kraut, dogs, burgers and booze for the day. :-)

Well, vacation time is finally here. We're off to New Orleans tomorrow night: by train. Yes, train is slower, and a tad more expensive, but it's relaxing. No need to stress out at the airport to and fro. Just a picture window, a camera, and a long trip.

We're staying at the newly rebuilt Hilton Riverside, which is basically at the lower left corner of the French Quarter. She has a conference to attend and I have a list of things I plan on eating while I'm there. A spicy food lovers paradise.

Well, we finally planned it out and got our tickets ready for New Orleans the last week of December. Margo has to go for a nurses conference type thingy (technical term), so I decided to tag along. She won't step on a place without serious medication (fear of heights) and I just hate the airline industry in general. So, we're taking the train.

We have a 12 hour layover in Chicago which will be a nice chunk of time to run around town. First thing on the list: real UNO Deep Dish pizza. :-)

A nice long trip in a sleeper room with a picture window. I think it will be fun. Then of course, there's the 4 days in NOLA. Banas Foster is the top of the food list there.

I forgot I took 4 pics in panorama mode. I quit run through AutoStitch yields a pretty decent result.

We live across the road from an intersection. So far, I've seen at least two accidents here, and I'm surprised every winter that someone doesn't slide off the hill and into our front yard. So far, everyone has walked away. Just the usual rear end fender benders between people turning and people behind them not paying attention.
